TUNE OF THE WEEK: H.E.R. – Wrong Places

Two-time Grammy Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter H.E.R. featured on Songland recently.

Songland is an American songwriting competition series on NBC that provides talented up-and-coming songwriters with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to collaborate with visionary music producers who are responsible for today’s biggest hits.

On the show that H.E.R.  was featured on, she came across a talented songwriter called Raquel Castro who pitched her original song “Wrong Places” to H.E.R. with a convincing performance that won the heart of H.E.R. and Ryan Tedder (producer and lead of vocalist of OneRepublic).

Ryan Tedder worked his magic with added production to the song and H.E.R. laid down her vocals to the lyrics with a few tweaks to suit her personal brand and the result was awesome.

“Wrong Places” is a match made in heaven for H.E.R. and should elevate Raquel Castro’s career as a top-tier songwriter.

Songland has already produced some charting hits such as Jonas Brother’s song “Greenlight” written by Able Heart and Louis Fonsi’s song “Sway” written by PipoBeats, so it’s definitely a show to watch, if want to see some breakout stars and great new songs.
