Lea Kay is a 28 year old singer-songwriter from Psczcyna, Poland who is currently based in London, England.
She describes her style of music as being R&B and soul with an element of pop and lists Alicia Keys, H.E.R., and Rosie Lowe as her musical influences.
Growing up in a very musical family where everyone supported and encouraged her passion for music. She vividly remembers her mom singing along to Whitney Houston at night, which is one of the most comforting memories of her childhood.
Lea Kay began playing the piano and learned about music theory when I was 7 years old, and although she enjoyed expressing herself through classical music, she always preferred to sing pop and soul classics.
By the time she was 19 years old, she made the decision to move to London to study jazz voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
During her studies, she started writing songs as a way to heal from sadness, however, today she writes about hope and oneness, and her goal is to encourage people to fight for their dreams.
Lea Kay would love to collaborate with Alicia Keys and Lauren Hill one day, and her favourite song in her playlist at the moment is “BIGGER” by Beyonce.
Lea Kay wants you to know that “Movin'” should be your playlist because it is a song about resilience and our inner strength; it will keep you going through this lockdown. Just keep Movin’!
