Jenny Kerns is a 29 year old singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada, who currently resides in Brooklyn, New York where she is fulfilling her dreams of making great indie pop music.
Discussing her influences she listed artists such as Bon Iver, Annie Lennox, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, Norah Jones, Everything But the Girl, 90’s female singer-songwriters as her artists that have shaped the way she approaches and makes music.
Jenny Kern’s journey into music started when she began learning how to play piano and guitar as a kid, which led to her building a natural passion for music immediately.
She then rekindled this passion when she started writing songs a couple of years ago, loved it and the rest just fell into place at the right time, leading her to where she is now.
Jenny Kern would love to collaborate with Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Japanese House, Clairo, and Axel Flovent in the near future.
Her favourite songs at the moment are “Dionne” by The Japanese House and “Punisher” by Phoebe Bridgers.
Jenny Kern wants you to know that people should have her “Coming Back For Me” in their playlist because it’s a super atmospheric track that is about solitude and learning to be alone and being okay with that. She adds further: “I think it invokes a very introspective feeling”.
We felt the same feeling listening to “Coming Back For Me” due to its earthy vibe that is driven by gentle percussions, which are complemented by the mesmerisingly delicate string and piano melodies that play sparsely and softly in the background.
