Afropop artist Midas The Jagaban adds energy and flavour to Alana Maria‘s new R&B single “Chargie”. Over a warm afro-beat, Maria plays with her lyrical style and blends her R&B roots with Afro-soul for an elegant mix.
Born and raised in West London, Alana Maria writes music “about being happy, loving yourself, treating yourself right and being around good people”. Inspired by the likes of Brandy, Kehlani and Summer Walker she is making a name for her self as one of London’s rising R&B/Neo-Soul artists. However her sound draws inspiration from the UK’s rap artists too; the lyrics for “Chargie” came to her after listening to Nines’ emotive record ‘Ringaling’.
As for Midas The Jagaban, this lady does not mess around. Staying anonymous behind her two-tone balaclava, she’s performed well on the Afrobeats charts and gained masses of attention for her summer tune, “Come We Bill Ehh”.
