American video director Zack Spiger has collaborated with English singer Benjamin Clementime with his song “Condolence”. The visuals from Spiger are brought to us through the Solab Production Company based in Paris.
The black and white visual short shows the singer traversing through a bleak and eerie English countryside setting. In the middle of the project however, there is a stark shift to an urban, city setting at the same time that the song begins to develop. Spiger does well in curating the mood and dictating the progression as the video slowly moves from scene to scene with movement of the video is quite slow paced in comparison to the tempo of the song. The clever use of natural light and the gradual camera movement makes the project a well executed, professional piece.
Zack Spiger is the latest director to join the Solab Production group. Born and raised in Seattle, Spiger was introduced to film-making by producing works with him and his friends. Now the director focuses himself on street photography and film. Have a look in the link above to see the video as well as visiting solab.fr to see more of his work.
